The Well Coffee Co. in Bluffton Indiana

You all know I’m obsessed with coffee…I make coffee at home constantly, so if I’m going out for it, I want to support someone who cares about the craft and quality behind it.

The Well checks all the boxes for me. I’ve known Rodney Pelsy for a few years now and actually used to buy beans from him when he was roasting out of his house. Now he’s the Director of Coffee Experience at the Wells County Dream Center and oversees The Well + Rod’s Roast. He knows coffee, cares deeply about his craft, and you can taste it!!

Kylie Gerber, who also happens to be my cousin, manages The Well and is behind much of what makes it feel special, from creating their housemade syrups and recipes to making the space feel thoughtful, welcoming, and intentional. They’re both really great people who genuinely care about what they’re creating here.

The menu is really simple, which is always a green flag to me. Do a few things and do them really well. Their syrups are made in house with simple ingredients. Drinks aren’t giant cups of milk and sugar where the coffee gets lost. You can actually taste the coffee. The ratios are spot on, it’s smooth, and every drink I’ve had has been genuinely GOOD. My personal favorites are the Brown Sugar Shakerado, Cortado, and a classic Flat White.

The Well is part of the Wells County Dream Center, a community hub built around care, coffee and community with a mission of helping people find hope in Jesus while creating spaces to serve, connect and build relationships. It’s a mission I really love and am proud to support.

And the SPACE! The restored building is beautiful and includes The Well, The Collective co-working space, The Upper Room for gatherings and worship, and The Loft for families. The kids area in The Loft is unlike anything else we have around here! I’ve worked here plenty of times while my kids play, and they’ll even bring your coffee upstairs to you. 🙌🏼

I’ve heard so many people say, “I can’t believe this place exists here!” And I get it. There’s something extra special about seeing a place like this come to life right here in my hometown. I’m genuinely proud to have The Well in Bluffton and to see people I know creating something so good for our community. Beautiful, clean, thoughtfully designed, incredibly kid friendly, and backed by a mission I love.

But most importantly, I wouldn’t tell you to go somewhere if the actual product wasn’t worth it.

This one is.
