Burger Bowls
Serves | 3-4
Ingredients:
3 large potatoes
1 lb ground beef or turkey
½ c plain yogurt and/or may
1 tbsp brown mustard or mustard
3 tbsp ketchup or hot sauce
Pickle juice, to taste
Optional toppings: pickles, onion, avocado, lettuce, tomato, crumbled bacon
Directions:
To make fries, slice desired potatoes, toss in an air fryer basket with salt and pepper (optional: peel skin and drizzle with oil). Cook at 375°F, shaking every 15 minutes, until crispy and tender to preference.
Cook ground meat on a skillet on medium-high heat, breaking apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper.
To make burger sauce, add remaining ingredients in a bowl and whisk together. Add pickle juice until desired consistency is reached.
Assemble burger bowls with lettuce and ground meat on the bottom. Serve with optional burger toppings and drizzle with burger sauce.
Notes: Our preferred variation is ground beef, bacon, romaine lettuce, russet potatoes, cherry tomatoes, and speared refrigerator pickles. For the sauce, we like to use a combination of plain yogurt and mayo, ketchup, and mustard. Try a crinkle knife to make traditional crinkle cut fries. You can bake fries in the oven instead of the air fryer.
Our favorite method to cook bacon is baking in the oven—preheat oven to 375°F, arrange bacon slices on a foil lined baking sheet, bake for 25-30 minutes or until crispy.
