Easy Homemade Applesauce

Print Recipe Card

Ingredients:

  • Apples, cored, and sliced into quarters (peeling skin is optional)

  • Sprinkle of cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a pressure cooker and cook on high for 6 minutes, or a slow cooker for 4-5 hours on low until completely softened. Add enough apples to fill near the brim.

  2. Once apples are completely softened, purée using an immersion blender or let cool completely and purée in a blender. Serve warm or chilled.

Notes: Add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup after cooking for extra sweetness. I often add vegetables with the apples and purée for baby food. I prefer making this recipe in a slow cooker so I can smell the aroma of sweet apples for hours throughout my home.

You’ll find this recipe (and more like it!) in my original cookbook, Feeding the Nobles: Keep It Simple and Just Eat Real Food.
