High-Protein Mozzarella Sticks

Serves | 7-8 mozzarella sticks

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground chicken

  • 7–8 mozzarella string cheese sticks

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • Italian breadcrumbs (as needed for coating)

  • Avocado oil spray

  • Marinara sauce, for dipping

  • Optional garnish: parsley, chopped

Directions:

  1. Unwrap cheese sticks and place breadcrumbs in a shallow dish. Set aside.

  2. In a bowl, mix ground chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste until evenly combined.

  3. Divide chicken into 7–8 equal portions. Wet hands and wrap fully around each mozzarella stick.

  4. Roll each chicken-wrapped stick in breadcrumbs until fully coated. Press lightly so crumbs stick well.

  5. Place coated sticks in an air fryer basket in a single layer. Lightly spray with avocado oil.

  6. Air fry at 400°F for 10–13 minutes, or until golden brown and chicken is fully cooked through.

  7. Serve immediately while cheese is melty and hot. Dip in marinara sauce.

Notes: Best served immediately for maximum cheese pull. A great real-food alternative when you want something satisfying that still hits a high-protein goal.
