Honey Mustard Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 3 chicken breasts or thighs

  • ¼ cup honey or maple syrup

  • ¼ cup oil

  • 2 spoonfuls of brown mustard or mustard

  • 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder or garlic cloves, minced

  • Salt and pepper

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a bag, bowl, or container and marinate chicken for 1-24 hours in the refrigerator. If using chicken breasts, cut into strips.

  2. Heat grill to 400°F. Place chicken on the grill and cook for 6 minutes. Flip and continue cooking for another 6-8 minutes until a golden crust is developed and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

Notes: You can cook on a cast iron skillet instead, on medium-high heat, flipping once after a golden crust is developed, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. We like to slice and serve on a salad with boiled egg, avocado, tomatoes, and bacon. To make a complementary honey mustard dressing, mix brown mustard and a drizzle of honey or maple syrup together, and thin with water until desired consistency is reached.‍ ‍
